Assalamualaikum w.b.t and a good day to all,
It is with great pleasure and honour that I welcome everyone to the 2nd GCC International Conference on Global Citizenship Education.
The notion of global citizenship has become increasingly paramount, as the world becomes more interconnected and interdependent. As we gather here, we are reminded of the critical role that education plays in fostering a sense of shared humanity, mutual respect, and collective responsibility for our planet and its inhabitants.
Global Citizenship Education (GCED) aims to equip learners of all ages with the values, knowledge, and skills necessary to engage effectively and responsibly with the challenges and opportunities of our world. It promotes an understanding of diverse cultures, encourages critical thinking, and fosters the development of compassionate and active global citizens.
This conference serves as a platform for educators, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to come together to share insights, experiences, and innovations in the field of GCED. It is an opportunity to reflect on the progress we have made, to discuss the challenges we face, and to chart a course for the future of global citizenship education.
I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to our distinguished speakers, panellists, and participants, whose expertise and dedication have made this conference possible. I also wish to thank the organising committee and our sponsors for their invaluable support and hard work in bringing this event to fruition.
As we embark on this journey of learning and collaboration, let us remember that global citizenship is not just a concept but more as a call to action. It is a commitment towards creating a world where every individual, regardless of their background, can thrive and contribute to the common good.
Together, let us strive to build bridges across cultures and nations, to nurture empathy and understanding, and to empower the next generation of global citizens. May this conference inspire us all to work towards a brighter, more inclusive future.
Thank you, and welcome to the 2nd GCC International Conference on Global Citizenship Education.
