Notes to the participant

  1. Every participant is expected to attend the full program.
  2. On Day 1 (Tuesday, 6 August) all participants are gather at University Conference Hall, DPU  [Dewan Persidangan Universiti, DPU] in USM. Your luggage will be kept in a holding area (if you are not driving to USM)
    1. Dress code: Formal with suits and tie, or baju kurung for Malaysian (NO BATIK)
  3. Participants will check in the hotel and rest after 5 pm. Transportation for all participants to the hotel will be provided.
  4. Everyone is invited to the Dinner and Cultural Show at 8 pm (transportation from the hotel to USM will be provided for participants). The bus will be in front of the hotel at 7:30 pm.
    1. Dress code: Traditional attire of your home country
  5. On Day 2 (Wednesday, 7 August), transportation from the hotel to USM will be provided for participants in front of the hotel from 7:30am. Participants can also walk from the hotel, as the distance is not too far from USM.
    1. Dress code: Formal or Smart casual
  6. All Malaysian participants are expected to join Parallel Session 3 at 2:30 pm and the forum at 3:10 pm.
  7. International participants will be taken on a bus tour around Penang after lunch from 2:30 pm until 8 pm.
  8. On Day 3 (Thursday, 8 August), transportation from the hotel to USM will be provided for international participants in front of the hotel from 7:30am. Participants are advised to check out of the hotel in the morning before fetching the bus and bringing their luggage to the conference hall.

  9. Local participants are also encouraged to check out in the morning and keep your luggage in your car.
  10. The conference will end with lunch.
  11. Please be advised that GCCUSM will only provide hotel accommodations from 6/8 to 8/8/24. If you are coming earlier or leaving later, you need to find your own accommodation.
  12. Please note that meals will be provided during the conference (lunch, morning, and afternoon teas). Only on 6/8/2024, dinner will be provided during the Conference Dinner and Cultural Show. 
  13. Dinner on other nights will not be provided. However, there are many eating places around the hotel within walking distance.
